This is a custom WordPress theme using the Genesis Framework for a blogging website. This project had a number of features that were customized just for it. The theme required a three column layout for most of the pages, with lots of space for ads, so we added a fixed sidebar, flexible content layout to Genesis that works well for both larger screens and tablets. The theme is also mobile-friendly. The secondary navigation menu (shown below) displays different menu items depending on the page or category. This will help readers find the information they’re looking for more quickly. The custom footer menu repeats the client’s logo icon which is centered on the footer navigation bar, and provides additional options for visitors to find the information they need. The home page template was customized to make it easy to add text and random images above the blog.
“I liked the extensive knowledge that you demonstrated with the Genesis framework and coding of WordPress in general. I truly appreciated your input when I asked for it as well as some of the ideas that you put forward that I had not thought about before…
I now have an excellent framework that I can build upon myself. The design change that was made has reduced my bounce rate and increased my page views which was one of my primary goals.
I also have a much more professional looking site that portrays the professionalism and authority for my niche that I was trying to achieve.”
