When people at YWAM Phoenix Metro contacted us about their nonprofit website redesign, we were excited to work with them. Their excitement for what they do was contagious. YWAM Phoenix is a local nonprofit organization, and they work with students to prepare them for short and long term missions.
We all decided right away to use one of the wonderful Studiopress Genesis themes, so that the website would be easy for them to maintain. When they saw the Expose theme, it was love at first sight.
Since they didn’t want changes to the theme, we just created a custom header which used their image and logo. The home page also now highlights some of their most frequently used pages, rather than posts. The large featured boxes are easy to read on mobile devices. The website features lots of the client’s images, video, social sharing buttons, a calendar, and their latest twitter posts.
Since YWAM Phoenix works with young people, the site needed to work well with mobile devices, so we modified the original theme to integrate responsive website design techniques. We also used media queries to help with the different screen sizes of mobile devices.
