It’s the holiday season, and many small businesses do something special for their clients, customers, marketing, or websites to mark the season. So today I’m sharing some holiday resources to help you with images, fonts, messages, and icons for your small business cards, promotions, and websites, and a falling snow plugin for your website.
Merry Icons
These twelve Merry Icons are available free from Hand-Drawn Goods to get you started. These icons come as AI, EPS, PSD and PNG and in 4 sizes: 32×32, 48×48, 64×64, 128×128. They are released under the Creative Commons Attribution license for personal and commercial use. These icons are part of a larger set of 100 icons. (They also have falling snow flakes which you can mimic with a WordPress plugin below.)
Holiday Card Messages
You want to send holiday cards to your customers and clients, either through the mail or an email newsletter holiday card, but what do you say?

Fonts for the Holidays
Dafont.com has many novelty fonts for the holidays. Some to search for are:
Kingthings Christmas, Chocolate Box, Christmas Card, St. Nicholas, One Starry Night, Christmas Lights, and Santa’s Sleigh.
FontSquirrel.com has some lovely humanist, script, and calligraphy fonts. You can find:
CAC Champagne, Alex Brush, Chantelli Antiqua, Felipa, Fertigo Pro, Gothic Ultra, Italianno, Kingthings Foundation, Tangerine. And there’s also the novelty font Faux Snow.

Holiday Images
Large stock image sites (iStock.com, BigStock.com, and Shutterstock.com) give away one or more images each week. You can get each image to use once for your blog or promotions with just a login account. For the last few weeks, the Shutterstock blog has had a holiday image or vector. Falling Snow, Balloons and More WordPress Plugin
If you would like a falling snow effect for your WordPress website, an easy plugin to use is Snow, balloons and more from nkuttler. You can choose from a variety of falling snowflakes or falling leaves or hearts. You can also choose rising balloons for a party effect. There is also an option to use your own snowflakes or whatever you choose!
