If you’re planning to add e-commerce to your small business website, here are some great resources to help you get started. These are in addition to the e-commerce plugins I’ve already mentioned in Resource List for Your WordPress Website. The list below features a WordPress and Ecommerce ebook, another free WordPress e-commerce plugin, and some e-commerce badges to add to your website.
WordPress and Ecommerce Ebook
WordPress and Ecommerce: A Simple Guide for Selling Products Online by iThemes is a really nice overview for those interested in using WordPress for their e-commerce website. This ebook is easy to read and understand, and walks you through the basics for making decisions before setting up your online shop. To get the ebook, sign up for updates at the bottom of the page.
Exchange WordPress Plugin
Exchange from iThemes is a new player in the realm of WordPress e-commerce plugins. Like the other WordPress plugins, it is super easy to add a shop to your small business WordPress website. It is also simple to configure it for selling digital or physical products. It works with Paypal and Stripe payment methods out of the box. The initial install sets it up for the purchase of one item at a time, keeping things simple, but there is a settings page for free add-ons that allows you to add more options, including coupons and the Exchange super widget that adds “buy now” or “add to cart” buttons in the sidebar. Paid add-ons include a membership site, other payment gateways, and a recurring payments option. I’m looking forward to the invoice option that’s planned soon.
15 Beautiful PSD Badges for Free
